BlockCerts to be developed in Malta

2017-10-20T10:37:33+02:00 January 24th, 2017|

An Education Technology Pilot for academic and professional certifications will be developed in Malta as a result of a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Ministry for Education and Employment and Learning Machine Group.

The innovative digital technology supports the creation, issuing, viewing and verification of blockchain certificates that are registered in a public blockchain and cryptographically signed. This would result in a tamper-proof certificate and at the same time a verifiable proof of education that is immediately useful when applying for employment, further studies or immigration.

The BlockCerts pilot project in Malta is a first in Europe and will empower education institutions and learners to take control of education certification using state of the art technology.
